Sell Fitness Products Online Using Paypal

Picture

Need to set up e-commerce to sell fitness products on your personal trainer website? Are you a complete noob when it comes to anything outside of Microsoft Word?

Would step by step instructions help you sleep at night and dream of protein shakes, burpees and perfect form?

We've had loads of personal trainers ask us how to add e-commerce to their personal trainer websites, especially the trainers we design and build sites for so I thought it was about time to get a blog up with step by step instructions.

Setting Up Paypal To Sell Fitness Products

So, there are loads and loads of ways to sell things online. You can use an in built e-commerce feature on your website, external services like Auhtorize.net, Volusion and Clickbank but today we're only talking about using Paypal to sell your fitness products on your personal trainer website.

What You'll Need:
  • A website. You can use Wordpress, 1and1, Weebly or any other DIY site designers. Or get us to build you one.
  • A sales page on your website
  • A secret, hidden or password protected page on your website (this is where the downloadable file will be)
  • A Paypal account. You can go to get a Paypal account here.
  • A fitness product to sell.
  • A "Buy Now" button image. Feel free to use the buttons up top.

I'm going to be selling fitness products online! [TWEET THIS].

Sell Digital Products - Step by Step

These simple step by step instructions will guide you through exactly what to do if you want to sell your fitness products online.

But before we do anything you will need a hidden page on your website. If you;re a MY PT Website client you can simply go to the pages tab, add a page and then check the box that says 'Hide page in navigation'. In this page you will upload the file that you're selling so your buyers can download it.

You'll also need to download the buy now button at the top of this page. Right click and choose 'Save As' to download the image to your computer. Now go and add the image underneath the product description.

To link it all together, follow these steps.

Step 1

Log in to your Paypal and go to My Business Set Up on the right hand side, then on "Create Button for Your Site" and then on "Create Button Now"

Step 2

Create a Buy Now button by adding an item name (and ID if you need to) and the price and currency. Note: If you wanted to offer a subscription service you can also set that up in the same way.

Go to "Customise Advanced Features" option.

And then add the URL of the hidden or password protected download page under "Take customers to this URL when they finish checkout". Make sure to tick the box!

Now click on create button and you'll be redirected to the "generated code" page. Here you will be presented with a website option and an email option. Clicking on the website option will automatically generate a buy now button for you but they're ugly so I tend not to use them. For this guide we're going to use the email option. One you click on there you will be presented with a link. Copy and paste this code in to a note pad.

Step 3

Add the "Buy Now" button on to your website in your hot zones (next to testimonials, next to bonus products etc). Link that button to the same link you just copied in to your note pad and hit publish. Done!

Setting up E-commerce to sell fitness products on your personal trainer website can be very easy. Of course, everything is when you know how.
